Creamed like a shake, full of figs -- this little freezer knocks out the allergens without leaving out any of the flavor. A perfect blend of coffee's bitter with sweet Summer figs and chocolate.

  • Ingredients: 2 large Mission Figs, frozen
    1/2 ripe banana (or alternately, 1/2 frozen apple)
    1/3 cup pureed pumpkin or squash [ . . .]
  • Instructions: Add pumpkin first, then fruit, celery, and liquids.Toss in the lot of whatever's left.  Blend until [ . . .]

  • Substitution ideas: Feel free to sub in any dairy-free milk.  But I've found So Delicious Vanilla Coconut Milk is brilliant. It also blends up as creamy as anything sans milk at all!
  • Serving suggestions: Serve dusted with cocoa powder, or sprinkled with chocolate chips or cacao nibs for an extra treat. My little brother loves dusting his with coconut sugar and cocoa.
