1 tbsp olive oil
1 cinnamon stick
1 small to medium yellow onion, sliced thinly
2 cloves garlic, minced coarsely
3 small carrots, chopped
1 1/3 lb ground beef
1 box tomato sauce starter
1 28 oz can of crushed tomatoes in heavy puree
2 tsp ground allspice
1 tsp ground cinnamon
Salt and pepper to taste
Heat olive oil and cinnamon stick, turning stick to coat with oil, until stick begins to unroll.
Add onions, garlic, and carrots, and saute until softened and onions turn translucent.
Add and brown ground beef.
Add tomato sauce starter, crushed tomatoes (with puree), spices, and salt and pepper.
With your favorite pasta (gluten free or wheat-based)!
