As you may recall, I’ve posted a recipe for homemade chai latte before. I’m not a coffee shop person–nor a coffee person, for that matter–but I do love a good chai latte. Making my own has made this drink more affordable–and more fun! Now that it’s pumpkin season, I decided to try mixing up my recipe and making it pumpkin flavored. It took me a few tries to get the proportions right, but the result was delicious!

I've taken my MRM Veggie Elite and Garden of Life Raw protein powders, and with a bit of tinned organic pumkpin, organic non-dairy milk, and spices, paired with a sauce-pan, I made a glass of pumpkin pie. It's bloody brilliant, and oy yes, it tastes like pie: drinkable pie. Gluten free pie. Snow will soon be sticking, and sticking, and sticking again, -- and then for well-ploughed snow-walls up beside the roadways and down the drive, and icicles that hang snaggletoothed two storeys long. Even now, it's rather cold for smoothies. Though I've been making my share of smoothies all the same -- there's little easier to toss together gluten-free and whole-food-fast than a smoothie. (Not to mention, because of the ease of nutritional additions, smoothies are a great go-to: they provide meal supplements for healthy weight gain, or snacks for celiac-athlete recovery that's easily digestible.)
We went out for dinner the other night, and hubby was the only one of us who could order a milkshake for dessert–there was too great a risk of cross contamination for us allergic folk. The seasonal milkshakes sounded really good though, so we decided to go home and make our own milkshakes. And I found that I could make a Pumpkin Pie milkshake that tasted just as good as anything you can order from a soda joint!
Curl up with this decadent gluten free coffee drink! Ssssssip...aaaahhhhh....
