Zemas Gluten-Free Herb Waffle BLT Recipe

Herb Waffle BLT Herb Waffle BLT Zemas Madhouse Foods
A tasty and healthy twist on the BLT. Sandwiched between two herb-infused, ancient whole grain waffles, you'll get your fill of greens, protein and micro-nutrients in each mouthful. A farmers market favorite.

  • Ingredients:   

    Waffle Ingredients:

    1 package Zemas Gluten-Free Multigrain Pancake & Waffle mix
    1 egg
    1 1/3 c. milk of choice
    3 T. oil of choice
    ¾ c. parsley- fresh chopped
    2 T. oregano-fresh, chopped
    1 t. Himalayan sea salt
    ½ t. ground black pepper
    2-3 t. garlic powder
    1 t. siracha hot sauce (optional)
    1 T. red pepper flakes (optional)
    1 package bacon, cooked (vegan, turkey or pork bacon)
    1 tomato, sliced
  • Instructions:    
    Sandwich Directions:

    Heat up waffle iron.

    Spray with non-stick spray.

    Whisk together all wet ingredients.

    Add entire mix and mix until well blended.

    Fold in parsley, oregano, salt, pepper, garlic powder, hot sauce and red pepper.

    Ladle batter into waffle iron.

    Once the waffles are made, build your BLT, layering with the bacon, lettuce and tomato and mayo.

    Also note:  Add sliced avocado for additional healthy fats and creamy flavor.
