On the 4th of July we have root beer floats; on the 14th of July we have Champagne Floats! This year I made these Strawberry Sorbet Champagne Floats in honor of Bastille Day. Of course, the kids had their sorbet sans champagne. It's organic and free of gluten and the top 8 food allergens. Here are both the sorbet recipe, and for the grown-ups, the float recipe.

This is my favorite version of potato salad! It's fresh and the green beans make it lighter than traditional potato salad. Best of all, it's gluten-free and top 8 free, and can be eaten warm, at room temperature or chilled - perfect for summer cook-outs and BBQs!

Do you love berry picking in the summertime? My girls and I do, and, now that they're older, we come home with more berries than I ever expect. Not a bad problem! Deciding what to do with all that fresh goodness in a timely manner can be tricky, though. This summer, I froze my washed and prepped blueberry and sweet cherry stash to use in some baking throughout the month. But, I'm now exploring a new diet without poultry, yeast, or wheat, I'm still feeling drawn to easy comfort foods, like fresh scones with iced tea. Practically speaking, though, spreadables to use on those new rice or rye crackers I'm trying are less stressful to make right now. This week, I decided to adapt the "don't ever change this" Sure-Jell freezer jam recipe to use both types of berries together in one jam. It was so easy that I'm going to start another batch later today! Chicken salad is a great summer dish. It's cool and refreshing plus it doesn't require turning the oven on. I got the idea for this recipe at my catering job. There is a Curry Chicken Salad we serve on edible cracker spoons as hors d'oeuvres. However, that chicken salad is made with mayo, so I replaced the mayo with avocado. The chicken breast is quickly made in a pot of boiling water then shredded in the stand mixer which is also used to mix the remaining ingredients.
