If you deal with a nut allergy (peanut, tree nut, or both), you know that it’s nearly impossible to purchase trail mix from anywhere. In fact, except for Enjoy Life, I gave up trying long ago. Trail mix plays an important role in outdoor activities though . . . This trail mix is easy to whip up at home, is nut-free and as allergy-friendly as you need it to be, and is infinitely customizable--just swap out your favorite crackers, seeds, and dried fruits for a combination that is uniquely you!

I was feeling seriously uninspired when it came to posting a recipe this week. There really was nothing I felt like making–I just wanted to relax with a nice drink. Then I thought “Hey, why do my recipes need to be child-friendly all the time?” I don’t drink much, but I know that a good cocktail recipe deserves sharing just as much as a good dinner or dessert! So I present to you, my first adults-only offering: The Pomegranate Martini!

If you have to bake without egg (or dairy), chances are, you’ve heard of the Wacky Cake. Or Crazy Cake, or Depression Cake. The Wacky Cake is a very good cake, and always gets rave reviews when I share it with people–even those who don’t have dietary restrictions. You don’t always want a chocolate cake though, so here is how to convert the Wacky Cake into a Yellow Wacky Cake!
