It's the 1st of October! Time to bring out the mums, pumpkins, apples and scarecrows. Days are getting shorter too right? Before you realize it, Halloween is here. The favorite holiday of kids and a food allergy mom's worst nightmare.
As a mom with 4 children with multiple food allergies, I know first hand how challenging Halloween can be. Since their food allergies were diagnosed a little later in their lives, celebrating this event was a little harder.
Last year was our first year of Trick or treating with food allergies. Guess what? We had a really great time. Check out what we did...

It is quite refreshing that some major companies are now starting to make products for the growing food allergy / food restrictions market. As a mom of 4 kids who were diagnosed later in their life, meaning they used to eat certain food they were allergic too, the transition is a bit more challenging. Though I can make excellent "safe food", there's something about having a take out or delivery that helps them feel a bit more normal.
