This week's newsletter is out - with a double blog post in honor of my trip to BlogHerFood!

Like Mary Poppins' carpet bag, my briefcase is packed for diet-restriction-survival on the go.
Eating brunch out was a lot more fun before my food restrictions, but it's still possible.

Dear friends,

This weekend, I'm diving right into the epi-center of the glorious world of food blogs, at the BlogHerFood conference in Austin, Texas! For two glorious days, I plan to marvel like a kid in a candy shop at all the shiny different blogs that are out there.  Recipes blogs, how-to-cook blogs, restaurant and product review blogs - blogs to illuminate every aspect of whatever kind of food you eat.  Or don't.

While I'm there, I'll be looking for more blogs that make sense for people like you.  Blogs that are trying to spread the word that food is not one-size-fits-all, while coming up with restriction-defying recipes to prove that it can still taste good, too.

And I'll be there to listen, to find out more about the challenges of making food blogging work out as your day job, so we can develop more ways to support those whose recipes and information sustain us all.

As a fitting tribute to this blogging bonanza, we've posted a bonus one this week!  The first is a pre-conference post on how fictional childhood heros taught me everything I need to know to survive a business conference with food restrictions.  The second, for those of you happy to be staying home this early summer weekend, is my tips for eating brunch out when you can't eat most of what Americans call "brunch".  I'd love to hear what you think of them.

Happy Eating,
Cheryl

P.S. Going to be at BlogHerFood?  Look me up!  I'll be the one buying freedible blogger GFKimAZ a martini to thank her for being one of our founding blogs directory members!

Bonus extra post for BlogHerFood this week!

Like Mary Poppins, my bag is packed with all the essentials for mixing food restrictions and a professional conference!

What Mary Poppins, the Swedish Chef & Mrs. Piggle Wiggle taught me about professional conferences & food restrictions

Whether it's a day-long conference down the street or a 3-day affair in distant ports, business conferences present a special set of challenges for people with food restrictions.

Eating brunch out - without gluten, dairy or eggs (among other things)

Eating brunch out - without gluten, dairy or eggs (among other things)

"Brunch" conjures up images of luxurious weekend mornings spent sipping mimosas with friends to the strains of jazz standards in sunny urban cafes - but if you're gluten-, dairy- and egg-free it can be the trickiest meal of the week. Here are some suggestions to get you back to the table.
