Thank the hands that feed you: freedible news!
Declare Your Independence from Food Restrictions Month continues - and this week we're turning our attention to an important new part of the custom eating eco-sphere: the hands that feed us!
Independence from your food restrictions is being free to be more than the sum of your foods.
What does it mean to have independence from your food restrictions?  Being able to travel, to hike, to picnic in the open air? Being able to find a restaurant in a new city or town? Being free from the effects of the foods that aren't right for you?

Whatever it means, being independent from your food restrictions is as much about the foods you can eat as it is about the ones you can't.  It's about the foods you know you can trust to have the ingredients you need without the ones you need to avoid.

As a custom eater, you know that food can be medicine and the companies that invest in it can become our family heros.  So this week, we turn our attention to this critical part of the custom eating eco-sphere, by welcoming them into our community under the new "Eatables" profile type and inviting you to Thank the Brands that Set You Free with a new contest on our Facebook page.

Please join us, take the opportunity to say thanks to the brands that sustain your family, and help us spread the word!

Now on the freedible Facebook page: thank the brands that feed you every day!
Just click on the sweepstakes tab and enter the company you'd like to thank.  You can thank as many as you'd like (but just one entry per brand) and if one of your brands gets the most "thank you's" then you could win $50 worth of products from them so tell your favorites to spread the word about our contest!  Check our campaign page for details and to see which brands have agreed to donate their products should they win, as a way to help support freedible!
welcome, eatables!
freedible is about supporting the whole eco-sphere of custom eating - so we are thrilled to officially announce our new "Eatables" profile type for food brands big and small!

These profiles are designed to provide the kind of information that's important to you as a custom eater: who is the company behind the brand, what dietary restrictions do they cater to, what kinds of foods do they make and what do they do to make sure it stays safe for you.

What's more, from now until July 31st we're only making this available to companies that sign on to help support our campaign so please take a moment to visit their profile and thank them!

So please join me in welcoming them, and thank them in our Facebook campaign!
what does independence mean to you?
One more week to tell us, in our Pinterest contest!
Between now and July 24, create a Pin-Board with what Indepence from Food Restrictions means to you and you could win a goodies basket from our brand sponsors valued at $100! Click here for details.

The Resiliency of Joy in What Works

A large part of Declaring Your Independence from Food Restrictions is letting go of the feeling of being restricted by them and appreciating what's left as pure gifts. As with many things, I take the lead on this one from my kids.
